Elephantech Inc. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Shinya Shimizu; hereinafter referred to as “Elephantech”) has been selected by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (hereinafter referred to as “NEDO”) for the ” Technology-based Startup Program / Product Commercialization Alliance (PCA)” for the fiscal year 2022.
The program will provide grants of up to approximately 250 million yen.
The program aims to “[help] startups begin commercial operations within three years from the time they are first proposed”1 by providing grants to companies with solid commercial and financing plans as well as internal and external collaboration systems to achieve these plans but require funding to achieve commercialization.”2
The selection was made after a rigorous review that included a written assessment by external experts, the Adoption Review Committee3, and NEDO.

Focusing on developments that require unique innovations, such as double-sided flex PCBs, this grant will promote the development of low-environmental-impact flex PCBs based on a proprietary process that involves “nano-forming metal into ink, forming metal patterns, printing metal only on the necessary areas, and then growing the metal by plating.” We will contribute to realizing a sustainable society by improving our technology, expanding applications, and increasing the value and global market share of low-environmental impact flex PCBs.
The Technology Startup Program/Product Commercialization Alliance (PCA), which Elephantech was selected for this year, targets R&D startups with concrete plans to achieve continuous sales in about three years from the time of proposal, provided that they have already received investment from venture capitalists by the time of submission (March 31, 2022).
